Merry Christmas 2015 :)

Recently I am busy with my new born baby and we just celebrated her 100 days of birth on 23 Dec. This year's Christmas is my first year being a Dad. I feel the warmth from my family, the joy from my daughter. Thank You God!

I made a simple Christmas card app last year and is still using it to send greetings card to friends and family this year. I think just use a little bit of time to send greetings is worth as it keeps long term and good relationships with others. You may try my app or search other greeting cards apps in online app store. OpenCV also arouse my interest recently. It is a programming library to deal with Computer Vision. I try to make some simple test programs with it and C++. I hope I can come out with an interesting program or app to share with you in future :)

Easy Flashlight App is there

My baby girl was born on 13-Sep. She is a gift to my family and she is just now one month old : ). My wife and I don't have good sleeps in these days, this makes us very tired. But there are many joys in bring up the baby. I first time feel the pressure and joy of being a father. For those who are just being father or mother, let's enjoy the mid-night tasks.

So as the Easy Flashlight App is programmed and ready for download. I squeezed some time to finish this simple app as I would like to keep some secret time on my interest. There are 3 modes to be chosen in the app: SOS mode, normal mode and blink mode. SOS mode will signal the SOS pattern (3 short, 3 long, 3 short). Normal mode will be just normal flashlight. Blink mode will blink at a constant speed. You may also control the blink/flash speeds.

Project for Aug - Sep 2015

My little baby girl will be born in Sep 2015. I feel quite nervous and has little time left for myself. But I still want to keep up with a small project as it gives me free time to think and to focus on my interests :P. "SimpleTorch"which as its name stated is to make a simple android torch. In it, I plan to have 3 modes: normal, SOS and blink mode. Hope I can finish it while waiting for my new bb to come :)

5Color Gospel App is Ready

5Color Gospel App. Leave the leaflets and use the mobile phone to spread the gospel. There are 5 colors. Green which represents the creation of God. Black which represents sins of humans. Red which represents rescue from God. White which represents the faith in God. Yellow which represents the amazing grace. After the presentation, there are prayers and leave contact functions.

Father's and Mother's Day Cards

Father's and Mother's Day Cards App is born. You can create your own father's day and mother's day cards to parents and make them feel warm and loved. There are also messages to help you express your thanks.

As google app store has changed its policy and do not allow using 3rd party images, this app cannot be put onto google app store. So I upload to other place on internet. :)

Hong Kong Beach Water Quality

Recently I made an app which is for swim lovers in Hong Kong. It is the Hong Kong Beach Water Quality (香港泳灘水質) app. I also love swimming and even have a junior level in swim rescue :)

Hong Kong Beach Water Quality provides beach water quality in Hong Kong. Beach is classified in districts. Press and select the beach. Information regarding beach water quality, ways of transport, links to detail beach information and links to water quality report will be shown.

Simple Birthday Cards App

Wow, I have married and it is really an memorable and exciting day : ) Honeymoon has not yet been fulfilled, I plan to go around mid of Jan 2015.

I will be getting married soon in coming November. This is a big day for Janice and me. We both feel nervous and we try to do the preparations well.

It is a new experience to me and Janice in which we live together, facing ups and downs together. We should make decision and take actions considering the other one. It is really a new experience to both of us and learnt lessons in it.

Sometimes you will do something which you feel regretful. The feeling is really bad. Self blame, guilty will follow the minds whenever you are quiet. Don't let that feeling and blame ruin you. Live at the moment. Take some proactive actions and let the past experience guide you through your next decisions and actions. Turn the bad experience into a valuable experience :)

I am working on a new app which is the Simple Christmas Cards App. I am eager to have a Christmas theme app. Originally, I thought it would be like a collection of Christmas songs but it comes out to another idea of Christmas cards due to my gf's suggestion : ).

Project for May-Jun 2014 (Sea House Ideas)

Having rest for a long time, I started a new project in May. This will be a simple app collecting some of my dream sea houses images. There will be around 120 images, allowing users to drag to move and show thumbnails of the images.

Do you ever dream of living in a sea or beach houses? How amazing it will be!!

I hope I can own and live in a house like that... : P

Kung Hei Fat Choi and Happy Valentine's Day

The whole JAN is holidays for my android apps design. End of JAN is the Chinese Lunar New Year. I have valuable times with my families relatives and girl friend. We eat a lot traditional Chinese New Year food and play "Mahjong" together.

I think for an app to speak "I Love You" in different languages for a while. And took some time to design an android web app using mainly html, JavaScript (I'm not sure if it is the html5 website...) in Feb.

It is a simple and fun (I think it is :P) app when you press the heart, it speaks out the "I Love You" in different languages.

Stock StopLoss App Finally Come Out!

After 8 months of struggle, lazy, hard work, confused, frustrated, and happily...the Stock StopLoss finally came out!! Special thanks to my family and girl friend Janice who always support me and give advice to me both in the app design and handling jobs matters. : )

Stock StopLoss App
Stock StopLoss App is designed for managing your investment portfolio with stocks. There are 3 main functions, News Reading, Stock Monitoring and Reporting.

Stock Monitoring:
First, create your investment portfolio with the "Add Stock" function. Search the stock and input related buy date, buy price, qty and stop loss info, etc. Continue to add stocks and they will be added to the Report list.

Stock Reporting:
View the performance of the portfolio in the "Report" function.
When the portfolio is made, you may go to "Settings" to set the reporting schedule, alert setting for reaching gain or loss, etc.

News Reading:
Links to stock and financial news in USA, UK, Chinese, HK and Japan.

Delay of Quote: Quotes are dealyed at least 15 min.

Reminder of Use:

1. Do not add stocks from different countries (different currencies) into same portfolio, otherwise the total gain or loss will be wrong. The correct way is to create differrent portfolio to hold stocks from different currencies.
2. Be reminded that quote is delayed at least 15 mins.
3. If you cannot receive email report from stock stoploss, probably it is being classified as spam by your email service provider. Try to search it in your spam email and re-classifiy as non-spam mail.

Struggling for Stop Loss App (Sep-Oct 2013)

Stop Loss App is still in progress. I target to finish it in Oct 2013. Some major techinical issues have been done but there are still some outstanding issues need to be programmed and fixed.

Meanwhile, I am looking into HTML5 standard and plan to start programming a HTML5 web apps after finishing the Stop Loss App.

Wowo, let's have some timetable or time arrangement for programming and play. I mainly do my programming in holidays and weekends. Now is ~25% programming and ~75% play. Let's make it a bit more. If Sat play whole day, Sun need to work full day. While if Sat work half day and play half day, Sunday need to catch up another half day : ) Hope it can be worked out...

Progress on Stop Loss App

I am still programming the Stop Loss App. There are still some major issues need to do like report layout design, localization settings, financial news feed, etc. I think I need one or two more months to complete it. Here is the new icon I designed for it. : )

Project for Jun - Aug 2013

My health is not quite good for Jun and I stopped taking the electronic class to take more rest. From Jun, I started a new android project which called "Stop Loss App" which is a financial app to keep track of self purchased stocks and can set stop loss (stop gain) to remind oneself when the target price is reached.

The progress is slow as I felt unfamiliar with Android programming as I left it for some time and the programming sense also seems delayed and stupid. I hope the situation will change better for later times.

Recently, I cashed out US$90 from the apps income. Although it is small in amount and I accumulated for 1 year. It encourages me for the hope that app programming will one day bring enough income for me.

Also, I found besides programming, I need to pay more attention to apps marketing and choosing the apps advertising agent. They directly affect the download volume and thus the income from the apps.

Simple Compass App is Ready for Download

Sorry for late update. I am busy studying a electronic class and building simple circuits recently. All those electronic components are very interesting with their own personalities and functions like resistor, capacitor, diode, transistor, LED. It is fascinating that the combined components can do so many different tasks.

It is a simple compass with the electromagnetic field strength displayed. The background electromagnetic field strength around us should be ~40 - 60 uT. If it exceeds that range, the compass app will probably not functioning correctly. Besides, the app provide some educational information regarding electromagnetism on the Earth.

Project for Feb - Mar 2013

I am interested in Physics phenomena recently, especially in magnetic field, electricity and energy conversion. I am working on a Simple Compass App for Feb - Mar 2013. There are a series of sensor for android phones such as magnetic field, gyroscope, gravity, etc. For detail description, please refer to Sensors Overview.

Besides that, I would like to build up a simple physical model  for experiencing energy conversion. Let's see if I can make it and post it here to show you: ) ...

Where Are You, the Idea?

After the Kids Drag Game, I was taking a short break in creating Android apps and was looking for good ideas to code for... But unluckily, not much interesting insights come to me. T_T

I was going out with my girl friend and little scooter during this short break. It is relaxing : ) I will come to the World of Android Apps Design in Feb again... though the theme is still not fixed and clear yet. I would like to make an app to help solve problems people face...still no idea of what it is ... Idea, please come!!

Kids Drag Finally Comes..

The Kids Drag mini game app for kids finally was done. Kids Drag is a simple drag-and-drop matching game. Once kids drag the colorful icons to the corresponding dark ones, words will be spoken out. Kids learn the drag-and-drop action of mobile devices and pronounciation through this interactive action.

Targeted ages of kids: 2 - 8 years old

Idea of the game: From my 3-year-old cousin who likes to play the I-phone :p. I wish to create a simple game in Android so that she can play with it and it comes out this mini game.

This is my first game app using Andengine to code. Feel free to give me comments : ).
